In a Long DHI procedure your hair stays at full length front and back. Grafts are harvested through small windows hidden underneath your existing hair, and placed between long hairs with an implanter pen. You walk out with your own hairstyle — and the work invisible beneath it from day one.
The technique, without the brochure gloss
Long DHI is the fully-unshaven variant of DHI. In a standard unshaven procedure the donor area is trimmed in a concealable band; in Long DHI even that trim disappears — grafts are taken through small parted “windows” in the donor area that close invisibly when your hair falls back over them.
Because your hair stays long throughout, you see the result’s camouflage immediately: the redness and micro-scabs of the first days sit beneath your existing hair instead of on an exposed scalp.
Honesty note: this is the slowest, most labour-intensive transplant we offer, and its session ceiling is the lowest. It exists for people whose circumstances genuinely demand invisibility — not because it grows better hair. The follicles neither know nor care how long the hair around them was.

Design with your style in place
The hairline is agreed with your hair exactly as you wear it — which shows you the result in context better than any shaved design can.

Hidden donor windows
Small sections of the donor area are parted and grafts harvested within them. Combed back over, the windows disappear the same day.

Long-hair extraction and sorting
Grafts keep their full hair length — slower to extract and handle, but it means implanted hairs are visible from the moment they are placed.

Implanter-pen placement
Each long-haired graft is placed between your existing hairs at its exact angle and depth. You leave with a styled head, not a bandaged one.

The honest limitation
Working entirely between full-length hair roughly doubles the time per graft, and the per-session ceiling of ~1,800 grafts is a hard one. If a clinic offers you a 4,000-graft Long DHI in one day, be suspicious of what “Long DHI” will actually mean once you’re in the chair. Larger plans are staged across two visits, priced as two.

Asked about Long DHI
In our unshaven procedure the recipient area keeps its length but the donor area is trimmed in a concealable band. In Long DHI nothing is trimmed anywhere — grafts come through hidden parted windows, and even your barber would need to look hard. The price difference buys that last step of invisibility, nothing more.
In our experience, no — from day one your own hair covers the work, and by the time the implanted hairs shed (weeks 2–4) the healing underneath is done. The one caveat: some redness can show on a fully exposed hairline for the first two or three days if you style your hair straight back.
No. Graft survival depends on extraction quality, handling time and placement — not hair length. What long hair changes is the experience around the result: instant camouflage, slower surgery, smaller sessions, higher cost. The biology is identical.
