Magellan PRP Treatment

PRP, standardised by a machine instead of a technician’s technique.

Magellan is a closed, automated PRP system: it processes a larger blood volume and delivers a higher, more consistent platelet concentration than manual spin methods. Same biology as standard PRP — with the variables tightened.

What it is

The treatment, without the brochure gloss

Every PRP treatment lives or dies on one number: how concentrated the platelets actually are when they reach your scalp. With manual centrifuge methods that number varies — between clinics, between technicians, between Tuesdays.

The Magellan system automates the separation in a closed circuit: a larger blood draw, automated processing, and a programmable concentration several times higher than baseline, repeatably. The closed circuit also means the sample is never open to the room air between your arm and your scalp.

Honesty note: Magellan is better engineering, not different biology. It makes a good PRP session more reliable; it does not turn PRP into something it isn’t. If standard PRP has nothing to work with on your scalp, neither does this.

How it works

Step by step

  1. 1

    Larger blood draw

More volume in, more platelets available to concentrate.

  2. 2

    Automated closed-system processing

The machine separates and concentrates to a set target — no technique-dependent variation.

  3. 3

    Higher-yield plasma

The result is a denser platelet concentrate than a manual spin typically achieves.

  4. 4

    Grid injections

Applied across the thinning zones, exactly as with standard PRP.

Who it suits

  • Patients who responded partially to standard PRP
  • Early-to-moderate thinning where consistency matters
  • Post-transplant support with fewer, stronger sessions
  • Anyone choosing between PRP options and wanting the tighter process

Who it doesn't

  • Fully bald areas — concentration cannot rescue absent follicles
  • Anyone for whom standard PRP already failed completely — a stronger version of nothing is still nothing

Our honest grading

We offer both standard and Magellan PRP, and the honest difference is consistency, not category. If budget matters, a full course of standard PRP beats a shortened Magellan course. We’ll say which fits your case in the assessment — not upsell you to the pricier machine by default.

Questions

Asked about Magellan PRP

If you want the most repeatable concentration per session — yes, that is genuinely what you are buying. If budget is tight, completing a full standard-PRP course matters more than the brand of centrifuge. We will tell you which applies to you.

Typically two to three, spaced about a month apart — the higher yield per session usually means fewer of them than standard PRP.

No. For pattern loss, finasteride and minoxidil remain the evidence leaders. PRP of any brand is a supporting act — often a good one — not the headline.

The right treatment starts with the right diagnosis.
